From Jan 1st 2011, First for Weddings will introduce brand new, luxury products to its range. We have noted from many wedding fairs this year, there is far too much 'sameness' in the wedding market and that we, at First for Weddings want to set ourselves apart and offer our brides products that are as unique and indivdual as our brides themselves in the new year without compromising quality.

All our products are now being produced in the UK. What does this mean for you? -
- Improved product quality
- Faster turnaround times
- Better communication with our suppliers
- Lower carbon footprint
- and greater flexibility with wedding album choice.

We are having a website overhaul early in the year too, meaning easier navigation and more stunning images for potential brides to get a real taste of what we do and how well we do it.

We are more wedding fairs in Essex, Cambs and Herts in 2011.

And...to top it off, our on-line printing services is being improved. We are offering larger prints with mounts so our customers feel they are getting even better value.

These are exciting times for First for Weddings as we look to become one of the most successful wedding photography companies in the UK.

To think that we have been going for 5 years is amazing. It seems like yesterday that I launched First for Weddings as a side line project to my other commercial photography work. But what a success! We started the year with our first wedding at Leez Priory, a beautiful country manor near Chelmsford, Essex.

Icy and cold, but with warm hearts my bride and groom lit up the New Year...I was inspired! 2010 is a year of inspiration and to mark this inspirational time why not look back at the old masters. Don't we just love the tableu created by the Hogarth-esque group shots? I shall call it neo-neo-classicism!

Hello readers,

Did any of you see the news recently featuring 'the worst wedding photographer' ?

It was an amusing and somehow saddening to read; Somebody who has no talent, a cowboy, charging a 'mid-range' amount and not capturing their clients needs.

There are many interesting comments on the link - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8292164.stm from many people who have had experiences good and bad, but there was one comment which rang true for the professional wedding photographer -

Many people are not using professionals because they think that the images shot by their guests will suffice and see it as a way of cutting costs. But a good wedding photographer can make the day run so much more smoothly. As well as taking pictures, the photographer is the one person prior to the reception who can organise and stage-manage the event ensuring that everyone is in the right place and guiding things along. It is an immensely stressful job with a huge amount of responsibility and certainly not for the faint-hearted. Yes, pros can be expensive but it's a three day job when all of the pre-organisation, editing, and post production is taken into consideration and so costs need to be covered.

Welcome to our new and improved blog. We have decided to use Google's Blogger as it is a cleaner, more refined system that reduces the amount of spam (rubbish email) from our system.

Our summer season was over pretty quick and now we are locked away working hard on the post-production and design of several wedding books.
